A huge thank you to our 7 Team Climb cyclists Marc Wittenberg, Kevin Hancox, Kate Jenkins, Emily Cullum, Jade Devonshire, Andy Law and Jaq Pearce who took part in the RideLondon 46/100 event on 30th July 2017. Not only did they take on this fantastic challenge for Climb, but together they raised over £4,700!
The feedback on the event was fantastic and we are so glad that everyone enjoyed the cycle!
“To see my son Thomas as I crossed the finish line this afternoon was the best feeling in the world. To know how lucky we are to have him and that we got the diagnosis of MCADD early resulting in him being here today. Had a brilliant but tough ride, my knee went at mile 20, an old injury I thought I’d seen the last of and my back pain I’ve been experiencing for the last 10 months was with me pretty much all the way. The crowd and atmosphere was mega but I also felt lonely in some parts as it’s the first event I’ve done on my own. The pain has been worth every single penny raised.”
Kate’s inspirational story was also featured in her local newspaper, read the article here.
“I am very proud to have raised so much for a charity that means so much to us.
The event itself was fantastic – it was very well organised and incredibly professional from all the planning to the day itself. There was an incredible buzz riding on closed roads with so many other cyclists and the crowd support was brilliant. I would highly recommend it and personally felt very proud to ride for Climb.
I am attaching a photo taken at the end in front of the palace. I was in a lot of pain at that point but delighted to have finished!”
